Facts about Ceramic Bullet Proof Plates

These plates are place in a pre-tensioned composite material to hold them in place. Each plates weighs only 2.5 kilogram each, one in front and one at the back. Their new lightweight features makes it easy to move around and comfortable to the wearer even when under pressure.

It is much lighter than the conventional body armor hence a lot of armies, church leaders, and even police enforcers are gratified with this invention. It used to be so heavy, making the wearer tiresome and easily loses its energy thus emitting less productivity in their work. With this situation, when a person is put in the line of fire may not be as credible and reliable to protect citizens.

Before this was achieve, painstaking efforts were afforded in research. Adding the effort in constantly testing development of the product successfully achieved another breakthrough in the protective gear industry. Actually the combinations in arriving to this mixture are from unusual mixture of materials which unknowingly will lead to this new innovation.

The plates were made from aluminum oxide which is sufficiently hard enough to resist armor piercing projectiles. Then followed by boron carbide or silicon carbide but is quite expensive for a material that is only a few weight lesser than the first one. Hence, this unsatisfactory discovery moved them to find another better combination to come up with lighter plates but will not eat up too much of our budget.

Hence, ceramic plate was born. It is then placed in a compression to prevent crack growth which is usually found in the immediate impact area. Plus with the high density fiber used, it will surely absorb the strong impact of the projectile minimizing the effect of blunt force trauma.

When buying one, just make sure you know the different levels of body armor as approved by the National Institute of Justice to ensure that you are getting the right kind of protection to the kind of hazard you are most vulnerable to experience.
